You are booking with Paramount Expeditions Tours and Travel Uganda Limited, which trades as Paramount Gorilla Expeditions. We are a Uganda-registered tour operator licensed by the Uganda Tourism Board, based in Kakindu, Opp. Kennedy Primary School, Katabi Town Council, Wakiso District, Uganda.
Our name, phone numbers and address are in the footer of every page of this website. If a message or an invoice ever shows different details, please call us before you pay.
Card payments are made on the secure payment page of our payment partner, Pesapal, which is PCI DSS compliant. We never see, transmit or store your full card number, CVV or PIN. We only keep the transaction ID, payment reference, status and method that Pesapal returns to us once your payment is complete.
We check every payment with the payment provider before we confirm a booking. If you prefer a bank transfer, ask us and we send our bank details to you through the booking form.
Your gorilla permit is booked the moment your 40% deposit is received and confirmed, so your date is guaranteed. We ask for 40% of the total trip cost because we pay your permit and your flights together, so that the two always match. We buy the permit directly from the park authority on your behalf: the Uganda Wildlife Authority in Uganda and the Rwanda Development Board in Rwanda. Your permit details are shown in your final trip documents.
Gorilla permits are limited, and a permit can only be secured once your 40% deposit has been received. In rare cases the dates can sell out between your payment and the purchase. If that happens, we do not leave you stranded. We offer you the nearest available dates, or, with your agreement, we adjust your itinerary so your gorilla trek falls on an open day without disturbing the flow of your safari or sending you back and forth between parks.
If neither option suits you, we refund the full amount for the permit we could not buy, within 14 days, through the same channel you paid with. Booking agencies and transfer companies may deduct their own service fees from that refund. Once a permit has been bought, permit fees and handling fees are non-refundable.
As soon as your deposit is confirmed, we pay deposits to your lodges and camps to secure the best places for you. The finest lodges, especially during the Great Migration and for gorilla trekking, sell out far ahead. Paying early lets us place you in the camps closest to the action, such as near the river crossing points during the migration.
You are never on your own. Our team can be reached on +256 744 269 228 at any hour of the day or night, and your guide is with you throughout. If a guest needs medical help, we respond promptly: your guide informs our office, and we immediately contact a medical professional or the emergency services to assess the situation. If it is needed, you are taken to the nearest medical facility so that you receive the right care without delay. The same applies when a flight is delayed or a plan has to change: call us, and we sort it out.
We strongly recommend that every guest travels with insurance covering medical treatment, medical evacuation and trip cancellation. Safari takes you to wild and remote places, and good cover means that help, and your money, are protected if plans change. Insurance is not compulsory with us, we do not sell it ourselves, and we are happy to suggest providers on request.
