The short answerHaven Lodge Buhoma Community is a mid-range lodge in Buhoma Town Council, next to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. It has 8 twin or double cottages and 1 family cottage, each self-contained with a terrace facing the rainforest. The lodge opened in December 2014 and is run on behalf of the Buhoma Mukono Community Development Association. Gorilla permits are bought separately, and we arrange them for you.
Haven Lodge Buhoma Community is in Buhoma Town Council, in the Western Region of Uganda, right beside Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The lodge says it is near the gorilla tracking starting point. It does not publish a distance, so we confirm the exact transfer when we quote your dates.

There are nine cottages built with local materials: eight twin or double cottages and one family cottage. Each is self-contained and has a terrace with views of the rainforest.

The lodge is managed on behalf of the Buhoma Mukono Community Development Association, which started work in 1993 to improve incomes in Buhoma. The lodge opened in December 2014.
The lodge lists its community projects as Buhoma Community Primary School, Buhoma Community High School, water harvesting tanks and the Buhoma Community Walk. Ask us before you book and we find out how your stay supports them.

Between treks you can join the Buhoma Community Walk, which the local Tourism and Culture Committee started in 2002, or go for a village walk or birdwatching.
